Dear Visitors,

Thank you for visiting our website. The Ministry of Health of Guyana is pleased to provide a glimpse of what we are doing to improve the health and services for Guyanese citizens.

Guyana has made rapid progress in extending our life expectancy and we have established very ambitious goals for health. We want to eliminate HIV, Malaria and TB as public Health scourges. We want to eliminate disease such as Filariasis. We want to reduce the impact of Chronic Diseases. These are some ambitious goals.

In the next few years we need to climb some mighty mountains, mountains that will test our resolve and our mettle, if these goals are to be achieved. I believe we have the capacity and we have the ability to climb these mountains because it is for our children and our people. As you view this website we want you to imagine such a world.

Our goal is for you to view this website and learn, read it and commit to take responsibility for your own health and your life. Together we can make a difference in health for all. So let’s eat well, be active and be responsible, don’t smoke. Do not abuse alcohol and other substances. This site will show us that it is possible and the results will be long, healthy disability free lives.

Love Life, Stay Healthy, Live Long!
